Mario kart wii easier way to unlock?

In mario kart wii to unlock Baby luigi, funky kong, and various karts and bikes you have to complete and beat an expert class time trail. But i am really bad at those and always lose is there any other way to unlock them and if there isnt is there any secrets to beating them or cheats to win?

you don’t have to BEAT the “fast staff” (expert) ghosts. you just have to unlock them.
hope that makes things easier =)
