How can I unlock the Wii MarioKart cups?

I was told that you had to win a trophy in the Flower and Mushroom Cups to unlock the Star Cup. My 2 friends and I did this twice on Saturday, doing the Solo Race with 3 players plus the computer players. I won 1st in Flower and 2nd in Mushroom, but still no unlocks. I am SOOOOOO frustrated. Please help. Is there a code to enter?

i guess you need to get it gold in both cups. just dont get the code just try to get first in all races and you will be fine. ill be willing to add you as my friend on mario kart on the wii. send me a message if you want to.

In order to win the new cup u have to do it on single player mode in the grand prix mode. Get golds in all the cups and you get more characters and cars as a motivator basically if u win a metal in all u unlock more stuff

you unlock cups by playing in single player mode and u have to play grand prix….. you need to get atleast 1 star or more to unlock thing soo u have to b REALLY good.. as you progress you unlock many things like new characters, cups, karts and bikes and u unlock somethin big when u complete all the cc’s but i dont remember… theres 8 cups to unlock, 32 characters, 36 different bikes and.. well hehe it goes on.. hope i helped =D the game is SO much fun!

To open the new cups do the following:
1. Select 1 player
2. Select Grandprix
3. Select 50cc
4. Win a trophy in all the cups (even the one you unlock). Trying getting the gold cup by being first place all the time, this insure that you unlock everything.
5. As you go along more karts and player will be unlocked.
6. When you are done unlocking everything in the 50cc move on to the 100cc and then the 150cc. 7.Have fun!
